Lighting Design Services

Exterior Lighting

Exterior Lighting

Keeping up with exterior lighting trends, codes and State mandates can be a challenge. Types of luminaires, light sources and placement affect safety and function of a site as well as the aesthetics. Lighting design for exterior environments must take into consideration the physical surroundings, complement the landscape and architecture in the area, and provide the functional outcome desired by client and owners. KLH Lighting design professionals are knowledgeable and ready to add value to your next project.

Interior Lighting

Interior Lighting

Interior lighting focuses on three key areas – accent, task and ambient lighting.  Our trained lighting design professionals can enhance the design of any interior project bringing value to the space.  The appropriate application of lighting techniques makes a space more functional and economical in operation, and enhances the quality of life of the people in that space.  With ever increasing technology, the expertise and knowledge of KLH lighting design professionals can guide the client toward project outcomes that will meet their goals.

 Daylight Analysis and Control Systems

Daylight Analysis and Control Systems

Daylighting is married to the architecture unlike electrical lighting. Daylight can be utilized to make a space functional and safe. Daylight design must balance glare control, heat gain and loss, and variations of natural light throughout the day to provide the illumination and desired affects in a space. Control systems can maintain that balance, in spite of changing light conditions. Our lighting design professionals are capable of developing an analysis for a desired outcome that will make the best use of available daylight and technology.

 Lighting Controls

Lighting Controls

Lighting controls come in a variety of configurations from a single location to total building systems and from manual control to fully automated systems. The controls will have an impact on the luminaire and source selection, , intensity, and colors, and may even have various power needs.  With rapidly evolving technology, a lighting design professional can enhance the value of your project’s design.

Photometric Analysis

Photometric Analysis

KLH lighting design professionals are experienced in the measurement of electric and natural light. A photometric analysis is a means to understand and communicate the performance of a lighting system. The software used in photometric analysis allows our staff to evaluate a lighting system and determine if the system is providing the desired outcome - the appropriate light levels for a space or environment. The result of a photometric analysis is a numerical plan or report and is often required by building officials.

Photometric Modeling and Rendering

Photometric Modeling and Rendering

The lighting design professionals at KLH bring value to your project on many levels. By providing photometric modeling and rendering, they predict the performance of specific luminaires or daylight in a space. The results are provided as an image of the anticipated appearance of the space. This image is impactful when communicating with our clients and owners.

Theatrical Lighting

Theatrical Lighting

Lighting in theatres serves many purposes.  It can direct attention, set a mood, create a sense of time, illuminate specific scenery, and can alter perceptions.  Theatrical lighting design concepts are aften deployed in other types of spaces to meet the needs of the space.  KLH lighting design professionals are trained in the technology and equipment that are necessary to theatre lighting design and system functionality.  With proven expertise, our lighting designers are ready to enhance your place of entertainment.
