KLH Creates Jobs, Opens Lexington Office
Fri, Mar 23, 2012-12:00 AM
KLH Engineers is pleased to announce the opening of their downtown Lexington, Ky. office location.
Now with five office locations, KLH Engineers has seen more than a 55 percent growth since the 2008; almost doubling in size in a down economy. Established and operating in Kentucky for nearly 60 years, KLH is investing in the Commonwealth by creating job opportunities and hiring local talent. “One of the paramount goals in launching this branch office was to be fully staffed prior to opening and capitalize on the pool of highly qualified engineers in the Lexington area,” said Robert Lonnemann, principal of the firm.
KLH Engineers chose to locate their new office in the downtown area as its vibrant environment coincides with their company culture and design mindset. Its centralized location at the corner of Main and Rose Streets will allow the firm to serve their clients efficiently. The new space is also targeted to achieve LEED (Leadership in Environmental & Energy Design) Certification; in which their walkable, downtown location contributed to earning points for the certification.
The office will be managed by longtime, senior principal, Robert Lonnemann; a member of the firm for more than 20 years. Mr. Lonnemann has been operating in Lexington since October 2011.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting, hosted by Commerce Lexington, took place on March 23, 2012 to officially celebrate the opening of the firm’s new Lexington office.
Founded in 1955, KLH Engineers is a consulting engineering firm offering mechanical, electrical, communication and information technology, lighting design services, commissioning, and energy solutions. With more than 120 employees, KLH has completed more than 12,000 projects throughout the region as well as nationwide within the education, healthcare, commercial, civic and retail market segments. They are recognized as one of the largest engineering firms in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In addition to their Lexington office, other locations include Ft, Thomas, Ky., Dayton and Columbus, Ohio as well as New York, N.Y. Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine recently named KLH to their 2011 MEP Giants list and South Central Construction magazine also acknowledged them as one of the 2010 Top Design Firms.
