Commissioning

Commissioning is the quality process performed during the design and construction process to ensure that building systems are designed, installed, functionally tested and capable of operating in compliance with the design intent and the owner's project requirements. Recent studies indicate that on average the operating costs of a commissioned building range from eight to 20 percent below that of a non-commissioned building. The one-time investment in commissioning for a building can result in reduced operating costs over the life of the building. KLH's certified building commissioning personnel are dedicated to providing independent, third party commissioning services.

KLH provides commissioning services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, daylighting control, and HVAC and building automation control systems. Our experience and expertise with communication technology systems enables us to provide commissioning services for cabling, audio visual systems, central sound systems and security systems (CCTV, intrusion and access control). KLH commissioning services employs a database-driven documentation process. This database, coupled with our Commissioning Progress Reports, helps to streamline the communication process and document site observations, equipment verification checklists, functional performance checklists, and project resolution tracking forms.
