The 21c museum hotel is a historic rehabilitation to the Metropole building in downtown Cincinnati which was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Place. The boutique facility features 158 rooms, a contemporary art museum featuring 21st century art, more than 8,000 SF of exhibition space, a fine dining restaurant, several bars, and a full service spa.

The building was completely gutted of its systems and transformed to the beautiful, modern space it is today. This transformation updated the facility with a restored façade, new mechanical and electrical systems, and interior finishes while keeping in compliance with its Historic Registry requirements for this 1912 building.

Sustainable features include full building and per-room energy management systems, highly efficient HVAC and lighting, reduced water consumption, improved indoor air quality, and reduced CO2 emission footprint. The building is designed to improve the performance of energy efficiency while providing more inhabitant comforts than the previous building’s configuration.
