Kohrs Lonnemann Heil Engineers, Inc. (KLH) is pleased to announce that Joe Kohrs, PE, executive director of engineering, has been named a recipient of the Volunteer With Purpose Lifetime Achievement Award by Rosemary’s Babies Company (RBC), a non-profit organization that focuses on direct support for teen parents. This award honors individuals who have made significant contributions through their volunteer work, embodying the mission and values of RBC. Kohrs will be recognized at the Leadership and Legacy Awards on November 3, 2024, at the Woodward Theater in Cincinnati, Ohio.

KLH, a proud partner of RBC, played a vital role in the development of the Holloway House & Resource Center—a 6,400-square-foot facility for teen parent families, housing all current operations, business and educational resources, and supportive housing for teen moms and their babies. By conducting essential engineering assessments for the project, KLH was instrumental in ensuring the necessary fundraising and construction efforts could proceed with confidence and clarity.

“It was an honor being involved in this project. I also want to thank Rosemary herself. The effort, the time, the mission that she’s involved in—she’s protecting the most vulnerable in our society, and words can’t express the gratitude I have for someone who is willing to put herself out there and protect these young ladies and children,” said Kohrs.

RBC’s Supportive Housing will provide teen parent families a safe place to live, 24-hour access to caring adults, and connections to community resources. This system helps young parents develop life skills and secure resources needed to maintain housing throughout adulthood, with a focus on partnership between young parents and case managers.
