Franklin Riverfront Main Street Streetscape
The Franklin Riverfront Main Street Streetscape project revitalized downtown Franklin, Ohio, transforming the corridor into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly destination that enhances community engagement.
The project included the removal of all overhead primary electric service, improving aesthetics and reliability. Underground power distribution and new power pedestals were installed to support event power and convenience power throughout.
To elevate the experience, a distributed audio system was integrated across six city zones, creating an immersive downtown atmosphere. Security enhancements included surveillance coverage along 4th Street to improve safety and monitoring capabilities.
A signature light sculpture was installed above the 4th and Main Street intersection, serving as a visual focal point for the district. The streetscape also features DMX color-changing catenary lighting, catenary support poles and illuminated pole base wraps—each designed to strengthen the corridor’s sense of place and functionality.
Together, these improvements transformed Main Street into a visually engaging public space that supports economic development and community gathering.
