The foundation of KLH’s consulting engineering practice has always been mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, planning, and design services. Since its inception in 1955, we have maintained these three areas of practices as the core of our business, while embracing new opportunities to serve our clients in a constantly changing built environment. Mechanical Engineering

When our mechanical engineers design any HVAC system, we think about the long-term results of the decisions we make today. Mechanical systems are key assets that contribute to the daily operations of any building, whether a hospital or a distribution center. Our mechanical systems solutions factor in construction, maintenance and replacement costs, mission critical requirements, energy consumption and asset preservation throughout its life cycle. In addition to new systems design, we also examine existing mechanical systems to help owners understand how to optimize their operations and plan for future upgrade and replacement projects.

Electrical Engineering

An electrical system is the cardiovascular equivalent of a building’s systems. The electrical solutions we provide allow any building to maintain its heartbeat and enable the vital operations to take place at the flip of a switch. Our team dives deep into the building program to ensure that the electrical distribution and emergency power systems support the critical operations, functions and equipment in the building.

Plumbing Engineering

Do we take it for granted each time we turn on a faucet and expect it to work? Plumbing system design is more than just pipes and fixtures to us. From site development down to the bubbler on a drinking fountain, the solutions we provide help protect the public and preserve the environment. Our services cover everything from the coordination of vital public utilities, to clean, safe drinking water, necessary fuel gases to power a building’s infrastructure, providing critical life supporting gases, and the safe transportation of hazardous wastes away from the public’s view.
