KLH Engineers (KLH) will be presenting at the Lean Construction Institute Ohio Valley Community of Practice on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at SHP Leading Design in Cincinnati, Ohio. Speakers include James Tavernelli, President and COO, Joe Kohrs, Principal and Executive Director of Engineering, and Alex Jonovski, Principal and Director of Project Management.

Their presentation, “Data Integration of the Design & Construction Value Stream,” will explore the ways KLH is leveraging BIM and enhancing Revit as part of its broader technical strategy. The audience will hear how software programmers have been integrated into their internal teams; how their database functions; view tools and families they are creating in Revit; and hear about the resources they provide owners and contractors that improve the project workflow.

KLH has developed a customized database and modifications within Revit in support of data-driven project delivery. Most recently, it was recognized in the Building Design+Construction (BD+C) Engineering Giants Report for its technological innovations. KLH is using Python, a multi-paradigm programming language, to create machine learning models to more efficiently bridge the gap between AutoCAD and Revit. The firm is exploring other machine learning applications, as well, including mapping building types with corresponding HVAC system types.

The Lean Construction Institute is a membership-based organization whose mission is to transform a broken design and construction industry through lean thinking, tools and techniques.
