Bowling Green State University Kokosing Hall

Bowling Green State University set out to do something distinct: bring architecture, environmental design, and construction management together in one shared space where students learn side by side, reflecting the team collaboration of real-world practice. The need was clear: future professionals in the School of the Built Environment required an environment that supports both integrated learning and hands-on experience.

Kokosing Hall, a 22,900-square-foot addition to the Architectural and Environmental Design Building, brings that vision to life as Ohio’s first facility to house both programs under one roof. The building features four large classrooms, a 6,700-square-foot Innovation Lab equipped for projects ranging from modular homes to two-story structures with a 10-ton crane hoist, two digital labs with dual-monitor workstations, a materials lab featuring a bench oven and concrete testing equipment, a student lounge, and staff offices. Together, these spaces support collaboration, technical learning, and industry engagement without overemphasizing any one function.

KLH Engineers provided full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and technology design, delivering systems that support a flexible, high-performance learning environment. Kokosing Hall has strengthened recruitment and prepared students for the evolving AEC industry.
