KLH Engineers (KLH) will present several custom software tools at the Cincinnati BIM User Group on Thursday, February 27, 2020. The meeting will be held at Elevar Design Group located at 555 Carr Street in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The tools developed by KLH aid in bridging the gaps both within and outside of the design phase of construction. Presenters, John D’Alessandro, Software Engineer, and Patrick Eldridge, Lead Associate and Software Engineer, will focus on software that allows KLH to take AutoCAD drawings from a client and convert them to a usable Revit model. They will also show how KLH created a machine learning algorithm that predicts layer names and maps them to Revit categories for model creation.

Stephen Federle, PE, Principal and Director of Engineering, and Corey Smith, Lead Mechanical Designer and Software Business Analyst, will present software and processes KLH has built into their Revit models that allow for the models to be used for fabrication, material procurement and installation. They will share success stories that prove the value of this type of modeling both to the design and construction communities.
